re: 95mph at 5800rpm

Most people run 185/70-14 tires which have a circumference of very close to
76 inches (165/14 and 195/65-14's are very close). Assuming standard gearing
of a 4.55 rear end and a .79 5th gear you are going 20.02 mph for each 1000
rpms in 5th. This works out to 116mph at 5800rpm. If someone put a 5.12
rear in your car, it would still be going 103mph at 5800rpm. In other words,
either your tach or speedometer is likely to be incorrect. Use the mile
markers to check. 95mph should take almost exactly 39.5 seconds. That is
unless you have a 1 hour stop to explain your actions to a highway patrolman!

My spider only goes 92mph at 5800rpm, but it is a 4-speed!
