Milano Shock install

I will likely be replacing the shocks in my Milano (front and rear) in the
near future.  Any special tips or insight would be greatly appreciated.
Looking at the Milano workshop manual the job looks pretty straightforward,
but comments from anyone who has been there, done that recently would help.
