To veloce or not to veloce

Sean,

Back in the ole' days there were big differences between 'normales' and
veloces' but in the series 4 most all differences were cosmetic and
non-performance related.

All cars came standard with:

Power windows
Power mirrors
Power-assisted steering
Power-assisted brakes
AM/FM Cassette Stereo
Air Conditioning
Drivers Air Bag

but

Veloce has 15" tires vs. 14", plus the 'phone-dial' wheels
Veloce was more likely to have the hard top
Veloce had more elaborate covertible boot
Veloce had leather seats vs. vinyl
Veloce had removable map light in glove box
Veloce had lighted vanity mirror in passenger sun visor
Some cars were offered with a trunk-mounted CD changer

The 94 Commemorative Edition came with absolutely everything, had
wood-trimmed interior and special placards.

Its interesting to note that the normal Spider has all the electrical wiring
connections for the glove box light, heater switch for hard top, etc.
Basically they just put the 14" tires on it and left out some of the
gimmicks (and the veloce label). So in a sense, you could add all the
extras and make it a pseudo-veloce, although the VIN would tell the real
story. (And you'd end up spending a ton of money on some of the harder to
find items....and who would be fixing their makeup at night in convertible
anyway? hehehe)

Good luck on your search!
