administrivia: alfa owners cheap -- could be good for the digest

this is just a note to let digesters know that a novel new way of
supporting the digest is coming soon. it may appeal to some of you who are
trying to save money, too.

one long time member of the alfa digest races a GTV in vintage in addition
to running a small, decent little telco (a reseller of long distance, data,
and local services). he and i have been talking about digest support (and
i've done some network and security consulting work for him), and have hit
on the notion of making krusty motorsports (the business that runs
digest.net) into one of his distributors. since krusty motorsports is
basically a limited ISP (web hosting and email services), adding the telco
pieces to the puzzle isn't really stepping outside of the boundaries of
what krusty is supposed to be doing.

the end result would be that digesters who picked up LD or other services
through krusty would, through commissions, be helping with the financial
survival of the digest.

and having gotten my LD service through this outfit for a couple of years
now, i can state with some certainty that it's been reliable and reasonably
priced.

there will be an announcement when we get the details hashed out. since i'm
heading to st. pete and orlando at the end of this month, this may not
happen until mid september.
