Mr. Smith's observation about the value of maintaining quasi-vintage 
automobiles is cogent, and without fault. However, his theory hinges on the 
premise that the cars in question remain in his posession ad infinitum. In 
truth, much of the fuel for the enthusiasm of Alfas is the number of models 
that are covetted, lusted after, loved and ultimately, lost. A life-long 
relationship with an Alfa Romeo is far and away the exception, and not the 
rule. Remember: "always looking for another".
