Re: 164 clutch shudder



Thanks for the input.

have replaced the tranny, engine front, and top torque mounts (dog bone and
donut).  My rear mount appears OK and at any rate is not split. ( My front
was completely split in two when replaced),  Could the rear mount still be
shot to the point of causing this problem?

The S clutch throw out works by pulling on the pressure place springs rather
than pushing as with the other models.  I made a video of the bell housing
area and related engine when I replaced the clutch.  I don't see any
indication of leaks from the engine side or tranny, although this would not
rule it out.  Car has no leaks - a little remarkable for an Alfa.

I suspect this is something very simple (external to clutch) or very
time-consuming/expensive as in truing the flywheel or such.
