Identing Compression Ratios

Hello All,

I was wondering if there is some measurement I can take to Identify the compression of the pistons that are in the engine I'm dismantling. The previous owner changed a number of Items to Euro spec and I'm trying to find out if he went all the way to the bottom or not? Any input would be helpful. Thanks to all for your help with me thus far. I'm up to my elbows in my first rebuild.
