Re: Alfa shop in San Carlos, CA

Vangelis,

I have only experienced Italian Performance Specialist. Don Baker and Andy
are great great people. They are honest and truly passionate about Alfas and
Ferraris and other Italian cars. Don has a white GTV that he fully restored
from the ground up. Andy owns 4 Italian cars. IPS rebuilted the engine and
transmission to a Stage One set-up and it runs better than new. The previous
owner of my Alfa brought it to IPS. Now that I own it I wanted him to do a
complete checkout. I live in Pittsburg (and wondered if I should fine a
local shop) but talked to him on the phone about the car and I felt
comfortable about seeing him. He knew the history of it and could have
printed me a set of documents but I already had it from the previous owner.
So, I brought it to him and did a complete checkout. He suggested half a
dozen maintenance and cosmetic improvements. He found a leaking clutch slave
cylinder. I asked him to replace it along with replacing the old valve
covers with polished ones.

His shop is not as organized as I would like but he truly does excellent
WORK. Although I mostly work on my cars, I would not hesitate to take my
Alfa to Don. He is also helpful in the phone if you have any questions.

I think between Don and Andy have a least 40 years of experience.

Give him a call and tell him Nelson sent you.

PS. Don calls all his jobs a RESTORATION project. He will take care of your
car. I am very meticulous about my car and I trust Don and Andy with it.
