It might be easier to ask the question "what European car exported to the US
over the last 10 years *doesn't* have the Motronic system?" Almost all of
the Germans have it (although Mercedes has moved to Siemens [?]), and the
late-model Swedes, English & French, too, I think.

There are several versions (5.0, 5.1, 5.2, etc.), but they all share a
similar design and many components. It's up to the auto manufacturer as to
how much of the system they wish to implement -- one might use a knock
sensor, another might not, etc. Also the type of mandatory components may
differ between marquees -- i.e. one might use a flapper-type AFM and another
might use a hot-wire type.
