garage safety, spills, etc.

I am fortunate (I think) to have a free standing garage, so if something gets seriously out of hand the house is pretty safe. Also, the gas water heater is in the house basement, so one less worry in the garage (you do all know about gasoline fumes being heavier than air, creeping across the floor, encountering the pilot light -- BOOM! Right?).

Ian, get at least one fire extinguisher TODAY! There are probably 10 flamable liquids in your garage right now, and a car is just one big pile of fuel... I make sure to check the charge gauges every couple of weeks, because I have had to use an extinguisher a time or two, and I don't want a dud in an emergency.

I like to keep a couple bags of inexpensive cat litter around for spills -- it's a great absorbent, although it can be a bit abrasive, so I'd probably not dump it on the shiny side of one of the cars.

Baxter's Historic races start at PIR tomorrow! Looks like a hot weekend of racing in Portland, we broke 100 degrees yesterday and the forecast is for 90's all weekend.

Cheers,

PS: Tess, I saw your Spider at the SOVREN meet last weekend, but I never spotted anyone "Tess-like" (i.e. female) around the corral to introduce m'self. Maybe next time...
