Mike,

Had poor running problems on my 91 S.  You might try checking the fuel
pressure regulator by having the pressure checked at the rail.  Believe it
should be 42 to 47 psi.

Of course, something in the rest of the plumbing including the AFM could be
the source.   Changing my AFM made the difference between anemic response
and normal operation.
