Re: alfa-digest V8 #895 Open faced helmets
2 years ago when I was beginning to run my
F-Production Sprite in Solo I, the SCCA National
office specifically told me this was the rule the for
open faced helmets. Possibly since my sprite was an
open car that was why. If what I was told by SCCA
National was true, then am not sure why the open DSR
car was running an open faced helmet. Maybe local tech
inspector is doing own interpretation of rules or vice
versa.

this is not true.
the scca permits open face helmets in enclosed cars in
all levels of
club
racing. if the driver wears goggles, they may wear
open face helmets in
open cars.
we had a driver wearing an open face helmet in his
open DSR, with
goggles,
at the Lime Rock National yesterday.
