SOVREN victory and one last NASCAR blast

Saw a funny tee shirt for sale at the SOVREN races this weekend in sunny
western WA -- "Too dumb for opera, too smart for NASCAR"...

On Saturday afternoon, we watched Kevin McKee take on two of the best BMW 02's
in vintage -- the '67 1600 of Jeff Hecox and the '69 2002 of Terry Flanagan --
and bring home the win in his '67 GTV in the 2.5 Trans Am Challenge race. For
those of you who have been following Steve Schaeffer's progress on his '65
GTA, he also made a good showing. This race was a great spectacle for
Alfisti, with no less than 10 Alfas in a field of about 28 cars -- 7 GTV's, 2
GTA's and Dennis Pillar's '65 Giulia TI. They all race again Sunday, so try
to make it out to Pacific Raceways (yeah, I still call it SIR too...).

Alfa Romeo -- racing and WINNING since 1910!

On to PIR next weekend...
