Re: 164 code



Ed,

This usually points to the 02 sensor not being able to cope with the mixture
it is seeing.  Can be the sensor, the cat or other factor  making the
mixture too lean or rich.   Here is the verbatim from the manual:
"1-2-2-4   The heated lambda probe transmits to the control unit a tension
(voltage) >1.009V or <0.0928V
- The heated lambda probe malfunction persists for more than 2.5 sec after
the following conditions verify:
  - Engine temperature <74.6 deg. C (66.28 F) for at least 3 minutes
  - Engine load >4 msec for a least 5 seconds."
