(sigh) Alfetta GT cut out again

And she had been so faithful to me since replacing the ignition wires.
With my past problems there were several who kept saying they're betting
on a fuel delivery problem. I was sure they were wrong, but installed a
'see through' in line filter between the two DCOE's. Yes, of course it
makes no sense from the filtering standpoint, but does quickly tell one
if the rear car is getting fuel.

When the new ignition wires apparently solved the problem, felt my
theory was proved correct.

Okay, got the undo the gas cap and if I hear a big whooshthere's your
problem.

Since it didn't come up again until this a.m. I jumped out after pulling
over and jiggled wires. There was fuel in the in line filter. Could hear
the fuel pump ticking away. Started, but cut out immediately. Removed
gas cap just as big truck went by but with ear to gas cap, didn't hear a
big whoosh.

Replaced cap and car started and ran perfectly.

Several years ago when I decided to do it 'right' (very relative that
word) and installed a Euro inlet manifold, air box, air cleaner, I also
installed a Filter King (made in Italy) filter and pressure regulator, a
Facet solid state fuel pump, and a fuel pressure gauge.

Friend who vintages races kidded me about having the gauge under the
hood and not on the dash. Adjusting as far as I could, it would only
read 2.5 psi. However, it worked.

My current theory is if the gas tank pressurizes in the slightest, the
fuel pump cannot overcome it since the pressure is probably already on
the marginal side.

I'm going to recheck the clear lines behind the rear seats and make sure
the little valve is working correctly, but all was replaced about five
years ago. I'd also removed the gas tank at that time and it was
pristine inside. The rear filter is fresh.

Three questions:

Any other theories?

Do you know of a fuel pump which puts out around four to five psi? (The
Facet is rated at 3 psi.). I don't believe the Filter King has much of a
range regarding pressure adjustment so don't want to go too high.

Anyone know where I can get a new filter for the Filter King?

Where it is 84 degrees at 2:15 p.m. for fuel theorizers and those coming
to the Convention. It was over 90 a few days ago, though. I'm inland.
