Hello Louis,

Your car has a low pressure and a high pressure cutoff
relay that will not allow the compressor clutch to
engage if there is too little or too much pressure.
Most likely, you have a leak and have no refrigerant
at all in your system. You can check the
elecromagnetic coupling (clutch) by applying 12 volts
to it to get it to engage, but I wouldn't recommend
running the compressor without refrigerant. Usually,
if you have no refrigerant, then a good portion of the
oil has leaked out as well.

 I have a 91 Spider Veloce, all AC components seem to
be there, but 
when I turn the AC knob, I don't feel the compressor
kicks in. How do we 
test to see if the compressor is still working and
just need 
refrigerant?
