Re: Tea Tray - colours, this time
It just amazes me how interesting the tea tray thread has become and now
someone has mentioned colours so, for for the record, here's my tuppence
worth.
All GTV6s that I have seen except for one, had the tea tray and bumpers etc
in that steely gray that's familiar to everyone. However, the exception was
a GTV6 I had a few years back, a car that was imported 2nd hand from
England, great mechanically, but oh the hidden rust!. That car was a
stunning deep black (no Ethel, all blacks are not the same; just take your
medication) with, wait for it, jet black bumpers, side trim, and tea tray.
Additionally the side trims were highlighted with a horizontal bright green
stripe. The front grille shield (the familiar Alfa "heart) was black with
the front face in green and the tea tray had a single green strip running
lengthwise about 1.5 inches in from the left side ... I think.. People
familiar with the xxxxsud Sprint Veloce will remember a similar black and
green colour scheme that was used on those wheelbarrows ... er .. I mean
cars. That particular GTV6 also didn't seem to have a rev limiter because I
saw 7500 on the tach once when my son at the age of 12 decided to change
gears with the loud pedal nailed to the floor!! The engine survived (ran
great afterwards) and maniac son learnt to lift his right foot. Now he
doesn't use his left foot and does clutchless changes. Wish I hadn't
remembered that; he's got my GTV today. Mamma mia! ... :-(
Ciao tutti.
