there's more to it than that; any good racing harness is quick release in
nature.

the main issue is attachement points; the Schroth is designed to work with
the manufacturer's hard points. racing harnesses may or may not use the
factory hard points. the mounting kits sold in the US do include hardened
bolts with the same thread as factory hard points, but they also include
large thick washers so you can drill a hole in the sheet metal and bolt
through.

you can't get DOT certification for them because there are no guarantees
about how they are mounted.
