I like the Spica fuel economy. I have 4 alfas driven the same way (to
work) and have done so for many years. The two Weber alfas give 21-22 mpg,
the two Spica alfas get 26-27 mpg. Performance is the same, and I would
give the edge to Spica in terms of drivability over a much wider range of
temperatures. I'm rebuilding an engine for my red Belina, and the Webers
are being replaced with Spica. As previously mentioned, there are good
information sources now (AROC and Ingram publications) and if you can work
on Webers, you can learn Spica.
