Here's another data point, from a 90 this time. I've never taken the trouble
to compare the bonnet-line (90s never came with hoods :-) of a 90 with
either a GTV6 or a 75, but there is zero clearance between the plenum and
the insulation on the underside of the bonnet. There is an impression in the
lining from being pressed against the plenum for the last 17 years.

On a related topic, allowing for plenum pop-off would seem a reasonable
explanation for the loop in the flex line to the cold start injector. That
loop has always bothered me, but when I replaced all my engine-bay fuel line
a few weeks ago, I took a good look at the shop manuals, and it clearly
shows the loop. It's a bit of a pity, because rotating the injector through
180 degrees lines up the spigot on the injector with the spigot on the rail
perfects. However, it would be quite a short line (1" between the two
spigots?), and it'd be a cow to deal with when you remove the plenum.
Blowing the plenum off would stress either the back end of the fuel rail, or
the cold-start injector quite a lot.

In either case, (tea tray, or fuel line loop), I doubt that Alfa intended,
(or even allowed for) for the plenum to be blown off. Maybe Sandro can tell
us.
