Webers vs Dellorto's

-Alfa's didn't come
with 45mm carbs nor Dellortos.-

For the European market, Alfa's came with Webers,
Dellortos or side draft Solexes.

In my limited experience, with stock setups, the
Dellortos' transition from idle to cruising is much
smoother. Chris Boles suggests this is because the
Dellortos use a diaphragm accelerator pump vs Weber's
use of a plunger style accelerator pump.

Interestingly, the later Webers (the DCOM's which
replaced the DCOE's) came with a diaphragm accelerator
pump.

I've been happier with the Dellortos, although if
you're in the USofA, it may be dificult to find
Dellorto jets if you want to do some tuning.
