I think Jonathan is wrong about the newer TS engine. He's right that the plugs don't fire together as they did on the earlier TS, but it's not 180 degrees; more like a few degrees. If it was 180, there would be no need for a second plug--the first one could just fire again. Additionally, if it was 180 degrees, there would be no need for a distributor (e.g. 4-cyl motorcycle)!

Just to clarify things a little (thats if I'm correct)
The ALFA twin spark as used in Milano/75s and early 164s fires both plugs
together, they are wired together. The newer FIAT based twin spark with
one small and one large plug fire 180 degrees apart to reduce emmissions.
