Spider losing power

Wise Alfa People.......

While traveling down the road at about 60 or so MPH, my 84 spider will lose all power and barely keep running.  As soon as I get
under about 5 MPH it stalls.  As soon a I turn the key it starts right back up with no further problems.

My first thought would be ignition coil, however it has only happened twice, about 6 weeks apart.  Could the normal failure mode be
intermittent till full failure?  My experience with coils has been they either work or they don't.....

My second thought is fuel delivery problem......
