Heater assembly

from a '79 spider would be compatible/identical to the assembly for a

Brian, I'm pretty sure not. By chance I have a loose heater assembly
from a '79 Spider and a complete '69 Spider in the shop.

The '79 assembly has different outlets to the side heater outlets, and
does not have the front heater outlet flap that the '69 has.

Having said that, does not mean someone couldn't make it all work with
some modifications.

Almost sorry I don't have the 69's heater assembly out so I could do a
side-by-side comparison.

All I can say is they're definitely not identical heater assemblies.
Also note the heater controls are virtually direct on the '69 and
remotely fitted on the center console of the '79.

Anyone done the switch successfully? I'm certainly curious.
