RE: Rusty but new?



Not just Fiat, I'm afraid.  I was looking at a old Guiletta a while ago
and the owner told me about the time he visited the Alfa plant in the
early '80s.  He witnessed Spider bodies being inventoried outside,
uncovered, in the weeds, before being brought in for final assembly and
painting.  He said he you could estimate the body's mfg. date by the
amount of rust that was forming.
