Sorry for the double post....


The shims are <already> hardened.

It takes some doing, but they can be ground-down -- so long that if you
can get them, worthwhile to purchase the needed size.

The challenge is to keep the surface flat, and ||.

(I used a valve-stem to hold the cap (shim), allowing rotation to preserve
the geometry.)
