on the one hand, i think Pocock's spider is probably pretty legal.

on the other hand, i think that there are a lot of questionable cars out
there. as an SCCA scrutineer, i don't have the authority to order teardowns
just because i want to know what's in an engine. i have to stick to
examinations that are free or nearly so, unless a competitor posts a
teardown bond.

on those occasions, the results have sometimes been fairly entertaining,
but nobody's ever posted a teardown bond on an Alfa when i've been around,
so the topic is off topic. i learned a lot about 1600cc formula ford motors
at my last teardown, though...

and ingram pumps are legal so far as i know. there's a funky scca court of
appeals ruling that controls that issue.
