Don,
    The clutch and brake pedal should be the same height (roughly).  There is a nut on the clutch master cylinder shaft (inside the engine bay by the brake diaphragm) that can be adjusted to set the clutch pedal height.  But this adjustment is for slave cylinder travel (factory spec is around 11 to 12mm).  With this travel set correctly, your clutch pedal should be at the right height.  Something sounds fishy with your setup.  Has anyone done a clutch job on your car lately?
