You are probably right - in matter of this much $$$ I'd be tempted to tell the seller. But I'm not sure I would - I guess I'd have to be in that situation to really know what I'd do.
 
On the other hand - it's up to the seller to accept/reject any offer. If the seller isn't educated about what he/she is selling, that's not the buyer's fault. 
 
And you could also consider that 9 times out of 10 there are probably things wrong with the car (maybe minor, maybe major) that the seller knows about but isn't saying. And, of course, there are usually problems with the car that the seller doesn't know about either. Think about it - have any of us ever bought a "needs nothing" car that truly needed nothing?

	However, I think it was nasty. I would have felt much better showing
	the owner that the car could be made to run again easily. The fact
	that the buyer saw the "problem" and then made comments to get the
