     You most likely have them a bit over torqued. The Loctite actually acts 
as a lubricant which changes the torque values a bit. If using a lube, some 
books say to reduce the torque by as much as 30%. I dont know what the 
lubricity of Loctite is, but if you have faith in your wrench, I wouldnt 
worry. Probably what happened is that the bolts, having been lubed with 
loctite, reached a high torque level quickly. This would happen especially at 
the higher torque levels as a small input makes less difference the higher 
the level. Loctite will provide you with torquing info on their product which 
addresses this issue.

The time between application of the Loctite threading and tightening was

hardened. My wrench is a 1/2 inch drive 20-150 foot pound wrench, and
it's about 18-20 inches long so it doesn't take a lot of effort to put a
lot of torque on a bolt. It's a Craftsman and I've used it twice.

Are these fasteners and the crank so damn hard that the amount of
movement wouldn't be noticeable? Do they simply not stretch? Anyone have
similar experiences?
