NASCAR now makes the WWF look good-- but at one time--just try reading what
Gurney had to say about Curtis "Pops" Turner's ability as a driver---
basically Dan said that after spending about 20 laps trying to pass Pops
at Riverside that he had never seen ANYBODY do the things with a car that
Pops could and DID do. At that point in time, Dan's version of ANYBODY
included Hill, Hill, Clark, Von Trips, Moss, Sutees, Hawthorne, Shelby,
Miles, Donahue, Andretti, Stewart, Gurney hisself, Foyt, Jones, etc. :-)

(And, it just MIGHT be the weather ! The Finns seem to have by FAR the
greatest number of seriously fast, utterly crazy drivers per capita !!)
