Re: Alfetta oil pan

In #691 Roy Oppedisano wants to buy an Alfetta oil pan. Just a note that there
are two different Alfetta oil pans, (and two different Alfetta blocks)
depending on whether the dipstick and dipstick tube (also both different) are
in the pan or in the block. At least one person wound up with an installed and
running rebuilt engine with no way to measure the oil level. Having two
dipsticks wouldn't be as bad, so long as one did not mix them up; they are not
the same, and either one in the wrong engine will give a seriously incorrect
reading. The changeover came sometime before 1978 - all second-series US
sedans had the dipstick in the block.
