Welding...then on the other hand



I can do a lot of things. Supposed to since I bill myself as a restorer.

That said, there are lots of things I don't / can't do. Some years ago I
was chastised by Allan Ward for not having machining capabilities. He
was correct in that I didn't (and still don't and never will).

Not only confessing to that horrible affliction, I don't weld. Nada.

While we're at it, I don't own a sewing machine and can't 'do'
upholstery.

Neither do I personally rechrome, zinc plate, or powder coat.

Also, I don't remove / replace dash foam and the vinyl coverings.

And horror of horrors, I take wheels to have the tires removed and
replaced.

Not that any of you asked, but in my opinion, it is Extremely Naive to
expect professional results the first time you pick up a particular
toolno matter how small or large it's learning curve might be.

Bottom line: Know your capabilities and don't overreach.
