Re: GTV6 collectors (
In a recent message in AD 660 regarding 116 series cars, one Obie Fayth
intimated information on the super-secret GTV6 cartel. While I admit I was
ousted from this organization several years ago shortly after I sold my '83
GTV6, I wanted to alert owners of the 'other' 116 car - the 75/Milano - to
the insidious plot being masterminded by these high-minded idealists! Our
sweet, four-door family-oriented cars are becoming targeted as 'donors' for
these crazed coupe-owners.
How often have we heard, 'oh, MY '84 GTV6 has a Verde engine' or 'I upgraded
the shift linkage to the [gasp] Milano version.' I'm sorry, but the donors
in those situations had only *one* of those parts to give up to these
parts-hungry, four-eyed, fast-backed solariums. And just where do you
imagine those donors are now? Hmmm...ever see the movie Coma? Or how about
the sad ending of Brave Little Toaster?!?
I'm not sure, but I think their needles are bending in SHAME not because the
GTV6 has roughly 10x as much glass as is necessary in any rational car!
Those windshields should be charged property taxes! (I should know...I have
a used '82 GTV6 windshield in good condition in my storage shed...any takers
near Atlanta, GA?)
I'm telling you, if I come out of the grocery store to find a GTV6 parked
next to my Verde, I'll beat it off with a stick! Then I'll check for missing
parts!
Don't even get me started on the cannibalism occurring amongst those 164s!
AlfaBill is probably focusing on the Subarus just to escape the ghosts which
now haunt Mastro's back lot!
Thoroughly spent from ranting,

1988 Milano Verde - 1976 Spider - 1993 164 L (parting & haunting me)
