164 brake fluid

Ray

I would readily accept that its a master cylinder and replace it. They are
not hugely expensive and its always a good feeling to have a new one. I
have had a master cylinder fail in a manner that causes diagonally opposite
brakes to lock on. There is speculation that this is caused by
deterioration of the seals due to DOT4 fluid. Who knows? But the threat is
enough to change me to DOT3. Brake fluid is a bit of a black art, but the
guy that does the race brakes for my GTV6 swears by DOT 3 and I think it
gives better pedal feel.
