Sorry this reply is so late. I am behind in reading my digests.  You might try
  to locate a shop specializing in auto electrics especially Bosch.  I have 
had alternators rewound for a higher output.  The cost is not that much and 
they will check the voltage regulator at the same time.  If you can't 
locate one e-mail me & I can make arrangements to have it done locally at 
the shop where I have all of my auto electric work done. Small shop, small 
town so reasonable rates.
