any experience of Kool Mat?

Does anyone have any experience of Kool Mat
(http://www.koolmat.com/race.shtml) or similar products?

I'm wondering about the usefulness of, say, wrapping such material around
the exhaust of my street 75 QV.

I'm a bit tired of the inability to get fresh cool air through the car's
ducts but it's likely to be easier to reduce heat coming from the exhaust
(and kat) than stripping out the dash, again.
