Alfa 33 IE Tuning ???

Hi

Easiest way to tune a 1.3 33 is to fit a larger
engine. The 1.5 is uses the same block casting.

If you stick with the 1.3 you could try a K&N
filter, but make sure you duct plenty of cold air
to it. The late 33's have hydraulic tappets, and
are not too happy to use too radical cam
profiles. You could also try a different exhaust
manifold design. Some friends who race a
33 engined car (bored out to 1600) gained about
10% top end power but a very large amount of
midrange by designing their own manifold, trying
to equalise all the pipe lengths. This would be
difficult to do on the 33 due to the suspension
location
