instrument bulbs..FOUND

Hey guys,
Thanks for all who gave advice on my instrument bulb problem. For those who
don't know, I went to replace all the bulbs in the instruments of my 73 spider
while the heater box was out (much easier access) and couldnt find those pesky
things at any of the auto supply places in town. The kind i needed was the
tiny bayonet style (push in, give a twist), and after much searching on the
web I found a place that carries every type bulb you could possibly ever need.
Its at www.topbulb.com . I bought a handful of the Osram 3898 for 1.00 each.
They had good pics of the bulbs and it matched mine perfectly. However, I went
afterwards and checked the gauges and instrument lights i have from the old 74
spider parts car I have and they use different bulbs!! The 74 car uses the
small push-in bulbs, and the gauges use larger push-in bulbs. The local auto
parts place seems to have the push-in types readily available. I guess I could
have saved myself a lot of trouble by just using the bulb holders from the 74
spider, duh..I guess we learn a new quirk about our Alfa's every day don't we?
:) (and i can still say my 73 is 97% original, including the quirky bulbs...)
:o.. We'll still have to see if the new bulbs fit, I sure hope they do.
