Wrong is such a subjective word. All the Harley owners I know claim that they
need loud, unmuffled pipes for safety. Since a Spider is a low, sort of hard
to see car, I suggest you adopt the same story, and just have a piece of 2.5
inch pipe fabricated to run from the down pipe, over the axle and right out
the back of the car (better for your ears), unsullied by any form of muffler.
The NHTSA will probably give you some kind of award. Now all the sport bike
guys I know feel just like the Harley guys, but they know if they try this
stunt they'll get a big fat ticket, because cops don't get to ride Ducatis and
they are JEALOUS!
