strange clutch
Bob states his Alfetta clutch is inop after a couple of weeks sitting. My
'79 Alfetta GT would do the same thing when I hadn't driven it for a while.
It was a failing slave cylinder. It would drip enough to empty itself out
but not enough to make a puddle. When you got in and pushed on the clutch
pedal, the master cylinder was compressing air. A few minutes pushing the
clutch to the floor, keeping it there for a bit, and letting up did a quick
and dirty bleeding of the system, and one had a clutch again. The
permanent fix, obviously, was a new slave cylinder.
