Need help installing plenum......

I hope someone can help me out of my current predicament....

I've removed my plenum for the purpose of installing new intake runner hoses
to replace the cracked ones on my '90 Spider.  These hoses are quite a tight
fit.  I've tried installing them on the block, and trying to put the plenum
in without success.  I've also tried installing them first on the plenum and
trying to work the outlets on the block into place, but without even that
much success.  The problem is that I can't line up all four of the hoses at
the same time.  And then if I could, I doubt I could push them in without
having to pry against the inside of the fender.

There's got to be a "trick" to this.  Suggestions anyone?????
