Garry,
My tires are 205/55x15" on 15x7" Mustang rims over 1/4" spacers.
I've never seen 205x14" tires rub on a Spider, or GTV, but unless you plan
to keep it pretty much to the track and/or dry roads, I'd stick with more
of a compromise tire. People complain about the lack of "high performance
tires" in 14", but there are plenty of excellent ones available in H-
ratings that are entirely satisfactory for what old Alfas do best.
We have to face it, I think: our cars don't corner with the better modern
ones, even inexpensive contemporary cars will get generally go around
corners faster. One reason is that the new ones are designed for current
tire technology. But that's not (for me, anyhow) what attracts me to the
Alfa. THAT is shown here http://www.alfaclub.org/special_features.htm and
track day's coming March 23 at PIR!
As John H. says, enjoy yours.
Joe
