One thing to think about when considering cams is the difference valve
seat angle makes in low lift air flow.  Many aftermarket cams for the 4
cyl. engines have too much duration for the stock 30 deg seta angle.  The
cylinder sees the valve closed early with 45 then with 30.  So if you buy
a cam thinking that you will later do internal mods you may be very
disappointed with the results until you install those big 45 deg. valves.
 just another example of how an engine is much more then the sum of its
parts.
