Early brake boosters



Dan,
John Hoard recently wrote an article in the Owner about rebuilding these boosters yourself.  They don't seem to be that complicated, and if I had a choice, I'd rather have them instead of the later pedal boosters.

My 73 has the pendant pedals with the pedal booster, while both of John's cars have either a single or dual circuit fluid booster style- his brakes have a far better feel than mine.

Even when the booster fails, they are still quite good.  The only problem failure is when the seal holding the fluid from the intake vacuum fails- then you ingest brake fluid in the engine.... lots of white smoke...
