Brake squeal

I've just put a new pair of front pads on (Mintex), and now I seem to
have a squeal from I think the rear, 
As the noise disappears when I put the handbrake (emergency brake) on.
 
But, the rear pads look only half worn.
 
Do I need to adjust the handbrake, ?
 
The fluid level is still below maximum.
 
Any ideas ? this is silly, but its got me baffled.
