You have it correct, John. Because:

Molecular weight of methane = 16. Most natural gas is 88--89% methane.

Avg. molecular weight of air = 29

Moleccular weight of propane (C3H8) = 44 Most commercial "propane"
(properly LPG or "liquified petroleum gas) has some butane in it, and
therefore would have an average molecular weight higher than 44.
