Starter Problems

Looking for help from the collective knowledge of the digest,
My problem started with my 87 Milano Gold not starting, I replaced the
starter solenoid, but when trying to start the car the fuel pump relay would
not energize either the starter or the injectors.
Fuse 12 to the injection\ignition system is good as is fuse 20,
I seem to show a short to ground somewhere which is draining the battery but
I have no clue where. the car ran great prior to the starter dying. any help
on or off digest would be appreciated.
