"Dash Cap" Adhesive ?? (74 Spider)
Wilmington NC -- Jan 31, 2002
Hey Cats:
Got an old "dash cap" from a 76 Spider dashboard that I wanna put on my 74
Spider dash (the 74 has the usual cracks; not bad, but visible).
I wrenched the cap off the 76 using a hair dryer and gentle force. Now I
have a pretty swell dash cap with black gook on the underside, quite thick
(3/8" ?) in some places.
2 questions:
1: best way to remove this goopy crud that was the old adhesive (so it will
lay flat when installed) ?? Hair dryer ain't doing jack . . .
2: what kind of adhesive is recommended when installing the "new" dash cap
? ? (Obviously must have a wide temp range)
Any help is most appreciated
