Noisey Fuel Pump?

High-pitched, intermitant noise originating from
behind the passenger seat in my '87 Spider. (Sounds to
be near the injection control unit).  Originally
assumed it was a noisey alternator, yet the high
pitched noise seems to be tied to constant
excelleration.  Any increase in acceleration kills the
noise...then all of a sudden...IT'S Back.

Any suggestions?
